Damisha Collins

My name is Damisha Collins. Close friends and family call me ‘Mish' (Meesh). I am a San Diego local whose love for beer and hospitality started when I was a hostess at Gordon Biersch. After 3 years, I headed over to Ballast Point Brewing Company, and was introduced to an even bigger array of beer styles. I loved the notion that people from different backgrounds and cultures could come together over their shared love of beer. Over my 7 years at BP, I worked as a host, server, bartender, and eventually became the Community Engagement Manager within the marketing department. In my role as Community Engagement Manager, I focused on finding ways to support the local community all while promoting diversity within the beer industry. This passion led me to create the Brewing For Diversity Scholarship . Each annual recipient gets the opportunity to intern at Ballast Point to gain real-world insight into brewery production and operations and to become well-equipped with the skills and knowledge to enter the industry professionally.

This is when my love for marketing and making a difference began to blossom.

Wanting to support local businesses, my Instagram page “Mish Critiques” began in 2020 during the COVID pandemic. In addition to supporting local, my content now includes experiences, cocktail bars, hotels, travel recs, and more. I'm always interested in trying new things and working with new people!

Jan Lemmens

I’m Jan, one of the founders of a Amsterdam based festival around wild fermentation called Carnivale Brettanomyces. Working with beer since around 2000, of which the last 6 years as a brewer at De Kromme Haring, in Utrecht, The Netherlands.
Among the many facets of beer that intrigue me, fermentation is the most fascinating part. Be it the history and culture around it, or working along with it at the brewery. Some say alcohol is unhealthy, but so is passionate fascination.

Marena Domingo-Young

A lifelong creative, Marena’s creative journey includes a BA in Theatre & Performance and an award winning television series pilot, “Help Wanted”. Transitioning into documentary filmmaking has shown her how to amplify the realities of communities fighting for equity. She views film as a way to broadcast social injustice and people movements to the global population. This mission began when the need to address sexism and misogyny in her workplace in the craft beer industry pointed to using film as a vehicle to spread that awareness.

The result was her first independently produced documentary, “Girl Beer” which focuses on the trials and tribulations of women in relation to beer, both historically and now. This project comes from deeply personal incidents she and other femmes in the craft beer industry are met with daily. Many women in the industry constantly encounter overt and subtle aggressions they face. Since its 2022 premiere, “Girl Beer” has found success in the independent film festival circuit, winning in both the Global Shorts and Accolade Global Film Competition. The film has embarked on a national screening tour and so far has had 19 screenings in 9 different states.

Marena’s current project, “Kasama: Solidarity Through Space & Time” is her sophomore undertaking as an independent documentary film director. With "Kasama" she assumes the roles of director, producer, and crew.
